I've been using LED for my own skin for years now. The devices available for this treatment have gotten much more effective in recent years in my opinion. The device I use currently is LightStim*. I have the LightStim* for wrinkles wands which are red LED and the large professional panel that is a combination of red, yellow and blue LED. In my experience they both have huge benefits for a wide range of skin types and conditions.
Here are just a few:
Diminishes fine lines and wrinkles
Firms and tones aged or tired skin
Reduces the appearance of pore size
Smooths texture of the skin
Increases elasticity in the skin
Heals and calms break-outs
Minimizes future break-outs
LED stands for Light Emitting Diode, which is a tiny computer chip encased in glass. Each LED wavelength (or color) of light provides a unique benefit. The skin absorbs the light, (similar to the way plants absorb sunlight) and uses it to boost it's own natural ability to protect and repair itself.
The best part of all this is it's completely painless and can be used on any skin type or skin condition. There is no recovery time either. You can leave your treatment without redness or irritation.
There are at-home devices that you can use on yourself, but I prefer the LED in combination with a professional facial for a stellar effect in skin clarity, and a truly rejuvenated appearance.
If you've tried LED treatments for your own skin conditions, leave a comment, we'd love to hear about your experience!
*While I own LightStim devices, I am not paid by the LightStim company to endorse their products. This is truly my professional opinion from practicing esthetics and using LED devices for over 13 years.
